Yellowcard- When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes
Review by Jen Windland
Ever the fan of Irish-themed violin music, Yellowcard's latest releaseWhen You're Through Thinking, Say Yes does not fail to bring on the electric violin what so ever. I fell in love with
Yellowcard’s new album instantly: For You,
and Your Denial begins with a solo violin and I melted a little bit. It
only gets better from there, trust me. It is as if Yellowcard had never gone on a short
3 year hiatus.
One would think that after more than eleven years and seven albums a band would be losing its’ touch, but not the boys of Yellowcard. I remember when Ocean Avenue was played every third song on the radio and they’ve done it again. Eeny-meeny-miney-moe, any of the new songs would make smash-hit radio. The ten songs on the shorter album are all unique, each one sounding a little different from the one before and the lyrics are original, the perfect summer songs.
What else can I say? Ryan Key has a gorgeous voice and I can’t wait to plug his album into my car, roll down the windows and share it. This is what good music is all about. Whether everyone else likes it or not, Yellowcard is back and here to stay. So, welcome back boys, you were missed.
