On Friday, January 20th, Anthony Green performed an incredible show at Philly's newest venue, Union Transfer. If you were to ask any Anthony Green fan in the world what their favorite part of seeing him live is and they will tell you, his stage presence. No matter where the show is, who’s in the crowd, or if he is having a good day or not, he always manages to put on a show that is out of this world. An invisible bond is formed from Anthony to every single individual in the crowd and is only severed when venue staff is kicking you out the door.
This being the fifth time I have seen Anthony Green live, I still can’t explain this phenomenon. From his outlandish behavior on stage to his mesmerizing and profound lyrics, this is a concert I always look forward to.
Anthony’s sister-in-law Stephanie, played a beautiful 3-song opener, followed by a low key and ambient performance by indie-rock group Deerhunter. Then, with growing anticipation and a colorful array of lights, Anthony and his accompanying band, Good Old War, stormed the stage.
First on the hour and a half playlist, She loves Me So. This was an absolutely amazing performance. Before I knew it, the last three songs were up. One of his most known songs, Baby Girl, was played first and received an ecstatic reaction. Then the crowd slowly began to chant Anthony’s song, Seven Years. This song was previously written for the band Saosin. Usually this song gets left off the set list. Yet with everyone in the room chanting, it was hard for Anthony to turn us down. This was utter perfection. Like most other Anthony Green concerts, he wrapped up with Devil’s Song. To the very last second he was incredible.
Anthony Green’s passion and love for music is a true inspiration to every single fan. Every show is an opportunity to absorb the intense energy he gives off. Anthony’s new album, Beautiful Things, draws much inspiration from being a husband and father. Be sure to check it out and go see him live if you get the chance, you won’t regret it. ~ Doug Chesnulovitch

'Dudes' is no longer just a group of people you address - it's the name of David Mead's new album, released in November of last year. After playing for sold-out-crowds in Europe with Fountains of Wayne, Mead is back in the states and ready to spread his sound to the American fans past, present and future.
He'll be touring the east coast starting on January 17th in DC and ending in New York City on the 30th, but the most important date is January 27th: Mead will be at the Tin Angel with Harper Blynn. Be a future fan and go see him. You're not going to want to miss his contagious energy.
